To put a constitutional amendment (protecting marriage as defined in Prop 22*) on the California ballot will require 694,354 valid signatures of California voters.
This will mean a massive effort. This is a big task and requires a big budget.
Our opponents will spend millions to defeat us.
Because of California law governing petition campaigns, we must have a separate committee set up to receive the funds for this effort. It is called "Californians for Marriage, sponsored by The Alliance for Marriage Foundation"

California law needs to send a positive message to kids about marriage, family and their future. The people of California made it clear that this is what they want for their children and grandchildren when they overwhelmingly passed Proposition 22.
But now the common sense definition of marriage is under attack again in California. And we currently do not have the money to protect marriage in California without the generous support of people like you.
